Triplegangers is back with a new purpose, to build the largest database of human digital doubles on the market using our top of the line scanning solutions.
Aiming to perfect digital humans in all CGI areas, we are developing this resource to give fast, affordable and easy access digital doubles for use in visual effects or computer games development.
We released our first 3D avatar models back in 2007, then 4 camera portrait scans in 2009 through ir-models.
The brand has since grown to become Triplegangers. Originally selling 360 degree full-body Photogrammetry scans in 2012. We have now decided to switch focus purely to selling head scans, creating an online digital model agency.
By offering competitive pricing and giving access to the RAW data, rather than an artist’s 'impression', or sculpt on-top of a 3D scan, you will cut your expenses and bring the quality of your projects to the next level.
Triplegangers FACS Products
Each model comes with the neutral expression as the base likeness and 19 FACS scans. Some products in the future will contain full FACS sets of over 40 expressions. These are RAW triangulated 7 million polygon meshes with original CR2 photosets, ready for retopolgizing and texture baking. Having this data will make it easy for you to perfect your own digital doubles which will fit your pipeline perfectly. Linear Pipeline
The products will contain all relevant *.CR2 (Canon RAW format) photographs and Agisoft Photoscan *.psz files. As well as one CR2 photo of the model holding a Color Checker chart(image above), that you can use to calibrate the photosets. For the time being we are distributing products as Photoscan files because the software is production ready and suitable for multiple chunk layering. We will be supplying additional scripts in conjunction with our products shortly. By having CR2 photosets you will have the freedom to color manage the textures and get that final look you are after. Tracked and Aligned
All scans are correctly calibrated and match real life dimensions. Each expression is rigidly tracked and aligned to the base neutral scan.
Our 3D scanning system comprises of over 50x DSLR Canon cameras and a diffuse lighting system. We soon hope to be releasing cross polarized data, as well as Photometric scans from our IDA-Tronic DS1 scanning system later this year. Setting the goal to populate the store every month and aim to produce over 200 models by the end of the year.
We will also be releasing tools, scripts and tutorials with the hope to engage with other creatives and industry veterans, to share ideas and techniques.
